The Clay Warriors

March 29, 2019

First sighted toward the end of the War for Elysium, these creatures soon became a very serious issue for those that sought the power of the Elysian Crystals.

After the War for Elysium was won, their numbers seemed to increase greatly, attacking all and anything they could get their clay hands on to the point were if the alliance hadn’t created the Elysian barriers, the land would have become uninhabitable. After the great rising of Neolysium their numbers grew again. Seeming to come in endless waves at any who stayed in one place for too long without the protection of the Barriers.

Raising out of the very ground, they seem to take the shape of things that have currently been on the lands of Elysium and Neolysium. People that you may recognize, creatures you may have seen, even sometimes animals that scurry across the land. Each Clay warrior looks and moves just like the thing it imitates.

Not only do they come in different shapes and sizes, but the power of each one varies greatly between their numbers, with some having the strength of an average man, while others holding the power of ten, it is next to impossible to tell just by looking at them what you will be facing off against.

The only way to defeat them currently has been to smash them to pieces, and let them crumble back to dust, however it has been seen that this dust can sometimes reform itself back into its original shape, or the shape of another and continue to fight on.

Every now and then, you will find them with objects carried within their forms, some call them crystal hearts, others simple shiny stones, and so far no one has been able to identify for sure just what purpose these may serve.

It is said that that if you dig deep enough below the surface of Neolysium these beings will form out of the very ground to halt your decent. Maybe it is a defensive mechanism, or perhaps they are just more attuned into the ground itself, but the reason for this remains a mystery. A mystery that ensures, those that wish to live, never dig deeper than the dead.

Why are they here? What do they want? What drives their hatred of sentient being so much that they rise up in waves and obliterate all those they come across? How are they connected to the land and what secrets do they hold that could unlock further enigmas like the Elysian crystals, or the many eyes that are discovered around the land. It seems like the clay warriors are important in some way, if only there was someone who could uncover their secrets.
